Here is my first page with the kit!!

I used the *empty frame* side of this Sass paper, then I cut out some of the decorated ones from the other side and added them to my finished page.

I ran the alphabet stickers through the xyron and added the diamond dust.

I used the K & Co paper ribbon add-on.

This is just a sample of what will be included in the March kit featuring papers by Pink Paislee from their new Fascinating Line.
I made a small mini album Sunday after church to give to the women that is adopting my puppy. This little album has 10 pages and took less than 4 hours to do. The page size is 5x7 and the chipboard album comes from WRMK.

The March Ad On kit, a set of boarder stickers, and alphabet, and a page of labels plus a set of new Pink Paislee rubons.

2008 was not the year for me. But here it is 2009 and I am ready for a new start. TSE will be back up and running by the end of Feb and the kits will be better than ever with new options to chose from. For now I am working on my 365 album and doing it from scratch since I was not one of the lucky ones that got online fast enough to get one of the kits on the first of Jan. Starting a new job in 8 days and going to Southern Cal for training while the kids stay here with my sister. I plan on using the evenings for getting caught up on all the stuff I have fallen behind in this past year so that 2009 can start out clean and fresh.
What are your plans for 2009?
This is my favorite pic from the 2008 Christmas season it really reminds me of what I cherish most about the holiday, time with my family doing the things we have done since I was a small child.

I am always wowed by Julies work, but this month the rest of you must be too since there is only 6 kits left for September. I can not wait to see what she comes up with LO wise, I in awe of her talent and drive. I also would love to see all of your work in our gallery or posted here on the blog. I get such great inspiration from others and I am sure that most of you do too.

March is here and with it comes our best kit yet, at least I think so. It is so pretty and has all of the things that I love. Rubons, Ribbon, a chipboard alphabet and pretty patterned paper. Plus Fancy Pants new Creative Cards in The Perfect Pen, wonderful 4x6 journaling cards and prompts to help us get more journaling on our pages. Plus a brown chalk ink catseye for the perfect edging of this wonderfully shabby paper.

October Challenge #1

Ok, guys. This week is my week to blog and I'm REALLY late, so I apologize and hope to strike your interest. Today, I'm going to try to dazzle you with a couple of ideas. I read WAY too many magazines and I am known by the edgers to try every technique that I see. So, I have a challenge for all of you. Let's try and make our own embellishments. How about Shrinky Dink charms? A very simple, but fun challenge. Even the kids can do it!!
At my local craft store, I picked up a pack of Shrink paper. It usually will run about $3.99 for a pack of six sheets. You can make a variety of charms using rubber/acrylic stamps and marker. With your shrink paper, I found out that the best ink to use on it is Staz-on. It dries quickly and does not rub off. I found out the hard way that most rub-ons do not work very well and will not shrink with the paper when you bake it. Makes sense, right? It does, but I'm the type that has to prove myself wrong and I tried it. I did discover that the Polar Bear Press rub-ons will shrink with the paper, but that is about all. Too, the best way to adhere them to your pages is with Diamond Glaze. You can run it through your Xyron X, but I recommend something a little stronger.
Now that I have made my charms, I decided to try something else that I read in this month's CK magazine. I laid out my embellishments in sort of a half circle around my picture. Not only did I use my shrink charms, but I used a variety of other different things to make a half circle. This was WAY easy and did not take up too much time. I had this LO done in 30 minutes! I hope that you all like this idea! Have fun!!!

You all saw in my post about prepping for the kit to arrive at my doorstep, a cute little Beatrix Potter box. That box used to have a really cute set of books inside, but my DD, well let's just say they never found their way back in. So Mommy decided to recycle it, LOL!!

This is what I did to it....
1. Lightly sanded all outside surfaces of the box where I would be adhering paper.

2. I chose not to paint it only because the colors of the box worked well with the papers in the kit.

3. Measured and cut papers, using a thin layer of Mod Podge to adhere.

4. Sanded, measured & cut and adhered paper to front drawer .

5. When adhesive dried I lightly sanded the edges of all the paper.

6. Embellish!! I added rubons, a brass thingie as a drawer pull, and ribbon. I then added a final coat of Mod Podge to the entire box.

7. For the inside folders I found some mini file folders in my stash, but they were a little too small. What I did was trace them but add just enough to the outside edges to make them fit in the drawer properly.

There are 6 folders, 1 for every 2 months. I have to still make up little month cards to go inside the folders.
